Gut is a strategy achieved by combining an in-the-money CALL option transaction with a in-the-money PUT option transaction at a higher strike price.

A Long Gut is favourable when the price is expected to move substantially in either direction. A short gut is expected to fetch profits if the prices do not move too much in either direction.
